GRAMN. - KillaGRAMN.

Hackney based R&B collective GRAMN. release there hotly anticipated new EP KillaGRAMN, out now.

The fast-rising London collective, fronted by singer Aux and rounded out with producers and multi-instrumentalists James Lowe and Johnny Tomlinson, jump into 2022 with KillaGRAMN. marking their third EP to date. Featuring the collective’s signature concoction of charismatic lyricism and sonically adventurous soundscapes, GRAMN. continue to push boundaries in an expression of liberating creativity, melding groove laden R&B, trap influenced beats and spliced-in samples in an EP that keeps authentic, London life at the forefront.

Having built a cult fanbase and significant critical attention across a string of successful projects over the past two years, GRAMN. have made their mark as one of the most innovative and textured acts coming out of the city right now.

In a statement about the EP GRAMN. says, “This project is almost like a checklist for mortal threat, an acknowledgment of all that threatens my existence. The sounds reflect the times, up and down, soft and hard, a combination of feelings and observations on how this all came to be. Quoting Audre Lorde, “If I didn’t define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people’s fantasies for me and eaten alive.” I have to define myself for myself otherwise I will continue to be what other people need me to be, not who I am. In music I’ve always felt under pressure to choose, and in choosing one thing reject another - am I a singer but not a rapper, am I doing RnB but not HipHop, Soul but not Gospel. We chose to ignore those rules this time. Defining myself for myself means taking the time to create music which reflects the full spectrum of who I am and not what others want me to be.”

With this expertly crafted and polished EP, GRAMN. leave no question that they are one of London’s frontrunners in experimental R&B, check them out now!
