Olympia Vitalis

Ones To Watch is back and we have found a real gem for you! Meet Olympia Vitalis who is 21, Olympia Vitalis is a singer and pianist from West London. Growing up in a Caribbean, Italian/English household, Olympia has been inspired by a diverse range of musical influences. Most importantly, joining her local gospel choir helped to develop Olympia’s sound, which incorporates scat-singing and improvisation.

She recently released her first single 'Man' and when we heard it we were obsessed. Olympia’s distinctive vocals convey a bittersweet tone for 'Man', with lyrics encapsulating this mood, such as, ‘Made a mark more than you realised, Man,’ and ‘Do you see you are strong, Man’. The song also uses live instrumentation, with its saxophone and drums. The saxophone recorded for the song was completed in one take and blends seamlessly with Olympia’s voice. Her tone reminds us of the late Amy Winehouse. Though this may be Olympia's first release we cannot wait to see what else she has in store as she is defiantly a gem to keep an eye out for!
