Portuguese born with Cape Verdean heritage, Cocoelusive is an Alt R&B singer/songwriter raised in the UK (based in London). With her socially reserved persona Coco is here to express her own rendition of new school R&B applying play-on-words and feeling to laidback beats with captivating melodies we atNEOcaught up with Cocoelusive to find out if she could star in a TV show what would it be

NEO: How would you describe your music journey?

COCOELUSIVE:For years I thought it was really slow and confusing finding my creative place. But now I understand it takes time and true self work to become something we can be proud of. So I’d describe my journey as a process that I've learnt to appreciate.

NEO: How long have you been making music?

COCOELUSIVE:I’ve been on and off for years as I struggled with expressing myself to people I didn’t know, but started taking it seriously just over a year ago.

NEO: What’s life like for you outside of music?

COCOELUSIVE:Well I work 4 days a week ( got to pay them bills). But besides that I love being in touch with the five senses, so any form of self care like Exercise, meditation, good food, being around nature and having deep meaningful conversations with people really makes me feel at peace.

NEO: Do you have any up and coming projects you are working on?

COCOELUSIVE:Yes I do! It’s all in the works :)

NEO: If you were a three-course meal what would you be and why? Starter, Main, and of course Dessert!

COCOELUSIVE: Hmm… I wouldn’t usually do a three course, it’s a bit much for my tummy hehe. But I love seafood so my main would have to be something like grilled sea bass, roasted potatoes and veg ( can you tell I’m Portuguese?) Haha. And for dessert I’ll have to say chocolate mousse, can’t go wrong with a good old choc mousse! :)

NEO: What is the most memorable moment in your career so far?

COCOELUSIVE: A specific moment I don’t think I can recall yet, but I love when new listeners hit me up on DM’s showing their love for my music.They are always so sweet, it truly makes me want to keep creating for them :)

NEO: If you could make a difference in the world, what would you be known for?

COCOELUSIVE:To bring balance into people’s minds.

NEO: If you could star in a TV show, what would it be and why?

COCOELUSIVE:Hmm I don’t really watch TV if I’m honest...

NEO: If you had a controller that had the power to rewind or fast forward which one would you press and why?

COCOELUSIVE: I don’t think I’d want to go back or forward in time, I’m taking life as it comes and am happy where I am right now. I believe it’s all a process.

NEO: If you could create a fortune cookie given to yourself when you were 16, what would it say?

COCOELUSIVE: I’d say "everything you’re worrying about right now isn't Important. And Time is your best friend!"
