Lovelle

Lovelle has been described as an original and uncompromising sound coming from South East London. Lovelle’s style of music embodies London culture with an array of influences resulting in a modern yet timeless soulful sound. Her lyric focus is at the forefront of her music and is prided upon being transparent and representative of relatable topics. Lovelle recently released her EP, Therapy in May so we atNEOcaught up with her to find out what life is like for Lovelle outside of music and if she could be an animal in the animal kingdom what would she be.

NEO: How long have you been making music?

LOVELLE:I’ve been making music since I was a teenager but took the lead with my career a few ago.

NEO:What’s life like for you outside of music?

LOVELLE:Fun but chill, I’m a very laid back person. I enjoy seeing my people and going to exhibitions and museums. I love art, reading, meditation and boxing! I’m free spirited so I just allow my days to take me to wherever.

NEO: Should we be expecting new music anytime soon?

LOVELLE:Always. I have a new song coming in the next couple months.

NEO:What is your biggest motivation?

LOVELLE: My people. I’m blessed and very grateful to have hard working and amazing friends and family. I’m inspired by them everyday.

NEO:What is your creative process like?

LOVELLE:I like to play all my favourite music really loud in my studio, get my tea vibe and just allow myself to feel whatever it is I'm feeling that day. I’ll voice note all the melodies or lay down all the melodies in my studio and go from there. ​

NEO:Out of all the songs you have released which is your favourite? And why?

LOVELLE:I think it would have to be Try Again. It was the first song I made where it felt very me and the path I wanted to take with my music. I love that it’s out there in the world for people to feel and enjoy.

NEO:What is your favourite album of all time, no skips?

LOVELLE: Bluddddd.. I don’t even know where to start with this, there are so many. As it’s the 1st album that came to my mind, i’m gonna have to go with Drake - Nothing Was The Same. I remember where I listened to this, who with, the feelings I was in.. Iconic.

NEO:If you could be any animal in the animal kingdom, what would you be and why?

LOVELLE:Lion, simply because I'm a Leo but I do love cheetahs.

NEO: If a millionaire decides to fund all your expenses on a one week trip to anywhere, where would you go and what would you do?

LOVELLE:I really want to go away to an Island, somewhere in Jamaica or St Lucia. I’d take my studio and make music.

NEO:What would you like to achieve before your next birthday?

LOVELLE: I want to have a few more projects out, have my headline show, bag campaigns with my modelling and making a difference in the black community with mental health.
