Hailing from South-West London, 19 year old Naila’s love for music isn’t just a phase. With influences spanning between Ariana Grande and Rihanna, the fresh faced artist’s unique blend of New Wave Pop has seen her garner over 60k streams on Spotify, as well as gaining key support from Rellik Tha Don, who sat down for an interview with her for Reprezent Radio. We sat down with Naila to find out what life outside music is like for her and if she could could travel to one of the planets what one would it be

NEO:How would you describe your music journey?

NAILA: It’s been a real learning experience for myself as I’m always writing so always having to dive into my feelings, I feel like I’m constantly finding out something new about myself and growing.

NEO:Who inspires you musically?

NAILA: I feel like I have so many musical influences from growing up, there was always music playing in my house and from a really young age my mum was taking me to concerts. I feel like the music I make resonates with Ariana Grande and Rihanna music. But as an artist I really admire Madonna.

NEO:Explain your last single using three words

NAILA: Fun, honest and heartfelt.

NEO:What's life like for you outside of music?

NAILA: Omg either a complete mess or really fun. Feel like the last two years have been a weird time with corona and all going on but it has pushed me to really focus on myself and work. But I am excited to get back to travelling and doing things with my friends more.

NEO:What is the most memorable moment in your career so far?

NAILA: Defo put out my first single and got such a great response and my Spotify wrapped artist. Since I was like 6 I’ve always said this was what I wanted to do, be a singer and an artist and to actually be able to say I’ve done it. I hope the younger me would be proud.

NEO:What other music genres would you like to explore?

NAILA: I really love alternative music like Florence and the Machine. I’d love to try to make stuff like that or like really RnB vibes like Jhene Aiko.

NEO:For your listeners and followers who are looking for some advice about life, what key advice would you give them?

NAILA: To never give up and follow your dreams even if they seem really big and scary and just do one small thing a day to help you move one step closer.

NEO:What is your favourite album of all time, no skips?

NAILA: It's a tie between KTSE by Teyena Taylor. And ANTI by Rihanna.

NEO:If you could travel to one of the planets, which planet would you go to?

NAILA: Oh my, ngl I don’t really know much about space could probs only name a few planets I feel like I’d rather go to space to see the milky way up close or stars.

NEO:What do you hope to achieve by 50?

NAILA: Greatness, I’m not too sure. I feel like 50 is a long way away and there's so much to do, definitely some world tours and maybe a few Grammys.
