"I'm that person who always gets the statement "you look taller on TV"
NEO Music sat down and did a ‘Get To Know’ interview with the incredibly talented South London Songstress RAI-ELLE who - after gracing us with her popular debut ‘KSB (Always On My Mind)’ in 2018, has recently released her new mind-blowing single entitled, ‘Mistaken.’Now, newly independent the prodigious crooner and former X-Factor contestant, is gearing up to share an abundance of exquisite and expansive R&B offerings that display her range and versatility sonically. We had to ask her if she was a cocktail what she would be and why?

NEO:How would you describe your music journey?
RAI-ELLE:My music journey so far has been insightful, testing, a learning curve and an eye opening experience in what it really takes to not give up on my passion.
NEO:Who inspires you musically?
RAI-ELLE:Anyone who has meaning and passion behind their music. If I had to name a few right now... Jazmine Sullivan, Brandy, H.E.R and Queen Naija from an R&B aspect. And from the UK - Shaybo, Stormzy, Chip,
It's all about energy and the messages being shared through their experiences.

NEO:What was the reason behind the title of your last release 'Mistaken'?
RAI-ELLE:Just a real straight to the point caption that seems to happen naturally far too often in relationships. Being taken for granted, unnecessarily testing boundaries that don't have to be crossed basically with someone for no tolerance for it. There's a point that females or people get to when they see the red flags they keep it moving and unfortunately a lot of ships can sail due to silly mistakes
NEO:Out of all the songs you have released which is your favourite? And why?
RAI-ELLE: I think it would have to be Mistaken. Although KSB and ALL of the songs
on my E.P were written for different reasons at a time where I was then, I was inspired to put those messages out there when i did - BUT Mistaken is relevant to me now. It's my first solo as an independent artist, has a lot of my own creativity with no pressure or expectation and represents a new beginning in my journey.
NEO:For those who have not heard your latest single 'Mistaken' explain your last single using three words.
RAI-ELLE: Sweet, Savage, Straight
NEO:You are left in the world with three songs: what would they be? And why?
RAI-ELLE:
Superheros by Stormzy - It's empowering and reminds you of your worth.
Everything by Mary J Blije - I never get tired of it, the words and her vocals give me goosebumps and put my mind in a positive place
Imagine me by Kirk Franklin - makes you appreciate and focus on what you do have instead of what you don't. It's an appreciation song
NEO:If you could be a cocktail what would you be and why?
RAI-ELLE: Pina Colada. It's a bit sweet, a bit of sour, smooth and ice cold but refreshing. What more could you want in a person lol
NEO:What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
RAI-ELLE:Apply for the X Factor. Literally fresh outta school I put myself in the public eye. Opened myself up to scrutiny and all sorts of public opinions, judgements but it was all to prove how serious i was about a career in music. I challenged myself by seeing how far i could make it on one of the most viewed talent shows going with my heart in my mouth each and every week - but no regrets , I came out still standing and smiling.
NEO:What is the first thing people notice about you?
RAI-ELLE:My height. I'm that person who always gets the statement "you look taller on t.v
NEO:If there was a zombie apocalypse tomorrow, what is the first thing you would do?
RAI-ELLE:Dress up and act like one of them who knows, it might work.
NEO:Let us know where to find you, on your social media.
